Records of two separate organizations which used the name Philadelphia Peace Council, each of which was formed to serve as a clearinghouse and coordinating agency for existing groups in the Philadelphia area actively working for peace. Includes scattered minutes (1924-1932), scattered correspondence (1924-1928), form letters, statements, membership lists, bulletins (1925-1928) and materials relating to several conferences on the teaching of history, and other records, of the first Philadelphia Peace Council (1922-ca. 1932), earlier known as Philadelphia Council for World Peace; and constitution (1938), minutes (1937-1943), correspondence (1937-1943), form letters, financial records, leaflets, speeches, releases, membership lists, bulletins (1938-1941), clippings, and other records, of the second Philadelphia Peace Council (1937-ca.1943).
